G.S.A. takes out special COVID-19 insurance for all its employees
G.S.A. (Gruppo Servizi Associati) has decided to protect its employees at this worrying time with a package of safeguards and services aimed at its nearly 4,000 employees throughout Italy, who, in these days, are conducting their work with competence and a profound sense of responsibility in order to guarantee the regular functioning of more than two hundred health facilities, as well as roads, motorways, ports, airports, oil and gas facilities, universities and many other sites of strategic national importance.
A large part of the GSA staff, engaged primarily in Fire Safety, but also in Security and Facility Management, conducts essential public services, often stemming from the mandatory need to comply with regulations for the security of infrastructure.
“The fight against COVID-19 and the containment of the epidemic depend on our collective, day-to-day behaviour and on the care taken in managing one’s duties. At such a delicate time, when prevention is paramount, all our operators play a key role as a social resource for the safety of the environments in which they operate, ensuring the highest and strictest fire safety, security and hygiene standards,” says Alessandro Pedone, CEO of GSA.
In compliance with the standards of excellence and thoroughness required by the sectors in which it operates, GSA has taken out a special insurance policy with Marsh, the global leader in insurance broking and innovative risk management solutions: “We will continue with unfailing commitment to provide the public with useful services, at a historical time that none of us would ever have expected or wanted to live through,” says CEO Alessandro Pedone. “Due to the continuous evolution of the emergency linked with the ongoing spread of coronavirus across the country, we felt the need to be even closer to our operators with this responsible and necessary decision, so as to show our people, the heart of our company, our gratitude and respect for the extraordinary work they do every day.”
In detail, the COVID-19 insurance cover provides GSA employees with a daily hospitalisation allowance, a convalescence allowance and assistance during the recovery period (home examination by a physician, transport by ambulance, transport home from the emergency room, and organisation of caregivers, babysitters, pet sitters, school runs and home deliveries).
