Fire systems and safety
In the field of fire services and systems, GSA boasts several strategic contracts at the European level, such as the fire safety management of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, the Gran Sasso Tunnel, the main motorway tunnels, and more than 100 kilometres of tunnels throughout Italy. In addition to the road infrastructure sector, GSA also operates in the fire safety sector applied to the health sector, serving over 200 facilities throughout Italy.
Research and development
Investment in research and development is the cornerstone of GSA: the company comprises a team of engineers constantly engaged in optimising the services offered and in developing new projects.
Particularly noteworthy among the Group’s most successful products and numerous patents is iTunnel, a project conceived and implemented by GSA – in collaboration with CISM, the International Centre for Mechanical Sciences in Udine, and the Department of Construction and Transport of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Padua – with a research investment of over 1.8 million Euro. This project involves the extraordinary invention of a high-efficiency, easy to manage and exceptionally effective drone for the extinguishing of fires and the management of safety in tunnels.
GSA also boasts proprietary applied technology, protected by an international patent: a fire-fighting system based on micronised water. This technology instantly eliminates smoke, making it easier to approach the fire. To date, it is installed on more than 120 special light- and heavy-duty vehicles, all owned by the company, used in different operating scenarios.
