Fire services
Fire services
GSA makes use of specialised operators to ensure the coordinated and synergistic installation and maintenance of fire safety and surveillance systems.
GSA is a national leader in fire prevention services. With over 25 years’ experience, it ensures compliance with the strictest safety regulations on fire prevention in both public and private facilities. Its undisputed leadership is complemented by state-of-the-art equipment and vehicles with international proprietary patents, and by highly specialised personnel with sound technical and practical training.
GSA applies its services in a variety of sectors, including motorway tunnels and networks, major industries, health facilities, maritime stations, the mass retail market, shopping centres and other infrastructures at a high risk of fire.
With their initial training and continuous professional education, GSA members of staff can intervene on fires outbreaks of various kinds, control their evolution, and actively collaborate in managing emergencies. The main services provided are:
- First intervention in the event of faults to restore functional conditions;
- Collaboration with institutional rescue bodies in emergency situations;
- Protection and evacuation of people in an emergency;
- Protection and conservation of assets, structures, offices and archives.
Prevention and control
Operating through its own highly specialised staff, GSA offers an agile and effective fire surveillance service, managing emergencies and intervening promptly in collaboration with healthcare personnel. The use of this service is also an essential and effective means of ensuring the response times required to adapt to current fire safety regulations those health facilities hot having a fire prevention certificate.
The GSA service typically involves patrolling activities, scheduled in collaboration with the HSE Officer (R.S.P.P. in Italy) on the basis of the company’s Security Plan.
Monitoring and control technologies
GSA carries out surveillance and control services, adopting the best technologies on the market and the most flexible methods so as to adapt fully to the customer’s needs.
Certifiable electronic reading systems for regular patrolling activities
In order to guarantee adequate and efficient control, GSA’s organisational model requires the immediate and constant reporting and certification of all inspection activities. The “check completed” status is registered electronically using a special device.
The transponder/TAG system consists of an RFID proximity reader supplied to the operating personnel and of TAGS characterised by a specific alphanumeric coding associated with each control point, as well as portable radio communication systems to ensure coordination of operators, and portable gas detectors for prevention in particular environments fitted with gas facilities, in the presence of explosive and flammable vapours or toxic gases. The device comes with a data logger that can store up to 100 hours of data. The instrument’s operating parameters are continuously monitored through highly sophisticated diagnostic systems. The detectors are ATEX, UL and CSA approved.
The patrolling mobility vehicles – Segway-type electric scooters – guarantee speed of intervention of the operative unit, while also facilitating movement inside the structures. Moreover, the operator’s upright position makes it possible to take action without needing to slow down. Frequent controls and inspections reduce the personnel’s level of fatigue, ensuring a higher psychophysical efficiency near the end of a shift and the best possible conditions of operation in the event of intervention. These elements make GSA a reliable partner in every scenario.

One of the systems most used for rapid and effective intervention is the Fire Totem, a dry-pipe water-based fire extinguishing system offering additional, alternative, appropriate and active fire protection of platforms and rail flooring. These specific areas are particularly at risk of fire due to the domino effect that may be triggered by a fire in one or more wagons of a train.
